(PART 1 SPOILERS! DO NOT READ UNLESS ALL OF PART 1 HAS BEEN READ!)

You know, it has been nearly a year since I did one of these. I do take requests. But for those who may have forgotten, "AH" stands for "Alternate History." The point of these deviations are to give my theory of what might or could have happened in an alternative scenario to what actually happened in the story. Of course, this is how I believe the events would have gone. I'm more interested to hear the responses, arguments, etc.

So, this is an AH I've had planned for more than a year, but simply stopped doing these for a while. Now I'm finally ready to talk about this incredible AH. The question? Many have asked before, and I think my theory is going to blow your minds.

The question is:

"What if Seppuku beat Jody and Blood Falcon, thus winning the Part 1 Grand Prix?"

And here's where I've been causing some shock. As I have said before, I believe it to be true that a Seppuku victory would have been a bad thing and could only lead to an apocalypse and a non-loving Chiya and Earl. Your expression, I'm sure, is very priceless. And I understand why. How could Seppuku winning 1 billion credits and a golden trophy lead to an apocalyptic end? (And do note, in the event that I had made Seppuku win; there would have not been an apocalyptic end. This is assuming that everything went just as it actually did, except, with Seppuku being the winner.)

First, let's review what had actually happened in that chapter: The final race of 1/3 took us to Aeropolis for the first time. Chiya and Earl were enemies at the time, due to an exchange of reactions, words, and a near shot to Earl's foot. Seppuku, was in a contest for 1st place. The likely winners were: Captain Falcon, Jody Summer, Blood Falcon, or Lieutenant Seppuku. Of course, Seppuku at the time was fighting the gang war, so he was more concentrated on taking out Michael Chain than anyone else. While he did accomplish this, he also took out Captain Falcon due to a strange surge of fury beyond his control. As a result, Jody Summer and Blood Falcon both labeled him as an enemy and handed him strong attacks. To make matters worse, Antonio Guster had joined in. Due to the triple teaming, Seppuku was forced to use much of his remaining energy on the final lap just to survive his foes. In the end, it came down to Blood Falcon and Seppuku down to the last drop of energy--where a single hit would power off their machines. Both clashed, and both powered down. While Seppuku and Blood Falcon slid for the finish line, Jody capitalized by swerving around them and crossing to victory. Blood Falcon took 2nd place, and Seppuku left Aeropolis with another bronze trophy.

Of course, what many--if not all--fail to realize, is that it was his failure to win that brought him to the ice cream shop with Chiya and Earl. This, is how Chiya ended up spotting Blood Falcon as he made his move for Mother Q. Alright, here are the key points we'll be working with: :

A. Seppuku wins the Grand Prix

B. Doesn't go to the ice cream shop

C. Team Seppuku now possesses 1 billion credits

D. Blood Falcon resumes plan to take over Aeropolis

-----------

So Seppuku crosses the finish line first. Maybe he did so by retiring Jody and Blood Falcon, or maybe he was just the better racer. Regardless, Seppuku stands proudly over the gold pedestal with a gold trophy and billion credits in prize money. Meanwhile, Chiya and Earl remain hostile toward each other; but are happy for him, regardless. The very first argument between Chiya and Earl, of course, would be over what they spend it on and how the money is split. Knowing Seppuku, he'd use the money to blackmail them. "You're not getting any of the prize money until you two calm the Hell down," would likely be the response.

Realizing the truth in Seppuku's words, the two would cease the fired up hostilities for the sake of money. While all would seem content in the world, there would be one thing out of place. Since Seppuku lacked any sorrow for the loss that never happened, Chiya would never attempt to cheer him up by recommending ice cream. Two things could happen now. Either the three return to the abandoned store that they were staying in, or they would celebrate the victory elsewhere. Either way, it was unlikely that they would go out searching for Blood Falcon right away. However, Team Seppuku had left for the ice cream shop right after the final race, meaning, Blood Falcon was already on the move in the event of a Seppuku victory. Regardless of what they chose to do, Blood Falcon would already be in Mother-Q before they could spot him.

Very simply, Blood Falcon would enter Mother-Q and, without any immediate confrontation, insert the Dark Million disc into Mother-Q, which would take complete control of her. Captain Falcon would arrive soon, but not soon enough. And with Mother-Q already corrupted and Blood Falcon at full strength (since he didn't fight Seppuku,) Blood Falcon's odds of successfully killing Captain Falcon would increase immensely. But we're going to assume that Captain Falcon retreats after realizing that the Aeropolian electronic military would soon turn on him.

Undoubtedly, Team Seppuku would have realized that Blood Falcon had struck Mother-Q by now, but it would already have been too late. The robot military would have already pledged their allegiance to their new leader--Black Shadow--and most likely turn their guns on the citizens. A bloodshed would occur, along with a hunt for Seppuku and Captain Falcon. Since Chiya didn't own a ship yet, they would have no choice but to remain on a Dark Million planet. And just as any target must, they would need to play the hermit game and stay out of sight.

There's no debate on one thing, a massive portion--if not all--of the citizens would have died. Black Shadow hates humanity and ultimately seeks to destroy them anyhow, and with no way of getting off the planet, it would practically be the equivalent to Jews being hunted in a world controlled by Nazis. Out of common sense, though, assuming that he survived, Captain Falcon would regroup with Team Seppuku and forge a four person alliance. Don't forget, Jody Summer very well could be dead as well in this situation. It's unlikely that any of the F-Zero pilots would have gotten off of the planet in time for the corruption. But more realistically, given the discoveries made in Part 3, Jody Summer would have likely been captured and tortured into giving the launch codes to Earth's nuclear arsenal. And if Team Seppuku couldn't save her in time, she would have broke and given him the codes. Thus, Earth and all other planets would have been possibly destroyed through nuclear destruction.

But let's be more realistic to how I commonly do chapters...

The reality of it, is that Seppuku would have saved Jody and brought her back with him--thus making a five person alliance. He'd do so, only because of Jody's power over the nuclear arsenal--which would be their best shot at stopping Black Shadow. But we're going to fast forward through all of this, because I think we know what to expect from Black Shadow.

Let's say, after a long tedious fight, Team Seppuku prevails and shuts down Black Shadow's Aeropolian empire--what's next? Well, that would have probably been the end of Part 1. Part 2 probably would have focused on ending the gang war of Mute City, and quite possibly not include characters like Dark Rose. But what of Chiya and Earl? It's a known fact that the two only became friends again due to Earl's brave intervention during the Blood Falcon fight. Rather than letting Blood Falcon further crush Chiya's hand, he took the hits. As a result, his bravery was rewarded through mutual apology. Many chapters into Part 2, they become a couple because of this.

But in this reality, there was no fight with Blood Falcon. Chiya and Earl simply continued to hate on each other for immature reasons. I think it's likely that the two would have eventually let bygones be bygones, but lovers? I doubt it. If there is any chance of the two becoming a couple at this point, it'd take a lot of work. And without that love for each other, Chiya and Earl would have left Team Seppuku after realizing that no gang war = no money. So, in all honesty, I think it's likely that Chiya would have met someone due to her inevitable popularity in F-Zero. Earl would have likely done the same. My conclusion on this matter, is that Chiya and Earl would have eventually parted ways.

Finally, it's time to address the money. Team Seppuku just survived their first war with Black Shadow, and now they return home to Mute City with 1 billion credits. How would this have been used? Well, get ready for this, because in all honesty, it contradicts what I just said above. What do I honestly think Seppuku would have spent the 1 billion credits on?

He would have used it, in some way, to get Chiya and Earl back together as friends...

Yes, Seppuku is a greedy man. And despite the fact that he cannot feel love, he still hates seeing Chiya and Earl fight. This much is evident when he walks in on Chiya and Earl patching things up and smiles for a rare instance. I truly believe this. I believe that Seppuku would have used the money, in some way, some how, to make things right between the two. And as a result, he would be rewarded with the same happy couple he has considered a family for all of Parts 2 and 3. Contrary to popular belief, Seppuku does have a heart, he just doesn't fully understand how it works.

In conclusion, something that sounds good, isn't always good. I'm sure someone will challenge me on how this would turn out, and that's fine! Please, challenge me. I really want to hear what others think would have happened. It's just my opinion, that Jody winning the Grand Prix was for the best of all worlds. Dark Million failed to take Aeroplois, Chiya and Earl became friends again that same day, and Jody ended up repairing their base in the epilogue with the prize money. So, while it may not appear so, Jody Summer winning the Grand Prix was quite possibly the best case scenario.
