EngelReise - Soga Angel

To the possible dismay of the reader, I am no longer going to provide as many details on minor/major characters as I once would for EngelReise since www.engelreise.com already covers that with the 'Characters' page.

Soga Angel is the father of protagonist Tomako Angel. A native Kyushu Imperian, Soga has run into the predicament of inheriting the very successful Angel House farm of the northern island, but finds himself the last male successor of the Angel House as he is only able to produce a single daughter--whom is unable to carry on the Angel name through traditional marriage. As such, Soga is a very harassing man to his daughter, Tomako, and so often reminds her that a hypothetical son would perform various services better than she.

Due to the depressing mental state Soga has enforced upon Tomako with his harassing ways, Soga has become the unofficial enemy of an isolated merchant by the name 'Otomo.' Were it Otomo's call, Tomako would have been seized from Soga's home as a child and put under Otomo's protection instead.

Despite the mental torture and abnormal social behavior Soga has caused Tomako to have, Soga is half the reason Tomako decides to embark on such a dangerous quest to the European Empire of Swatsland. To put everything in life on the line just to retrieve her harassing father from Swatslandic slavers just does to show how very much Tomako values her Puritonist Pot of Honor.
