EngelReise - Sigmund the 'Great' (Sketch)

So this was a very random character I came up with, but once the concept of the character entered my head, I knew that he had to become an official EngelReise character.

This is Sigmund the 'Great', a Victorian (Kingdom of Victoria) who once trained to become a Victorian Honor Knight, but for reasons he is unwilling to share, backed out of the training process to pursue personal interests. Still bearing the muscular body to be a Victorian Honor Knight, Sigmund put together one of the world's greatest mercenary bands in the world, known as the "Victory Guards". Unlike the Dark Knight's mercenary group, the Victory Guards are not under permanent contract with any lords. Given that they bear the colors of Victoria--they are looked at hostilely by the Dark Knight's entire band.

Sigmund, however, is a character of mystery. Despite his extreme ego and self proclaimed title ('the Great'), he has yet to ever demonstrate his greatness in any battle. While his men fight to the death, Sigmund remains in his encampment--where he simply sends out orders. He claims to be the world's greatest fighter, but does not wish to waste his 'immense talent' on the common foot soldier. Of course, this leaves to skepticism on whether he truly is great or not. Some go as far to believe that he is a coward.

Sigmund, despite being Victorian, has tailored a unique Swatslandic styled uniform, but in Victoria colors. This is extremely provoking to both the kingdoms of Swatsland and Victoria, as these two kingdoms despise one another. With his clothing, Sigmund is obsessed with his hair and insists on keeping it long and majestic. He will often speak about his mighty cleft chin--claiming that it is Godly.



Of course, for the reader, it should be unquestionable that Sigmund is actually just an egoistic fool who thinks he's great--almost like Super Arrow in F-Zero. Sigmund is to be a recurring comic relief character, much like Samurai Goroh was in F-Zero: Seppuku. Regardless, he does lead one of the greatest mercenary bands in the world, regardless of whether he is great or not.
